albaster, wood, granite, marble and stone

1972 - 1982

Sculpture ignited my desire to explore and express myself through the world of art and I decided to study sculpture at the Beaux Art School of Paris, and then apprenticed for many years with various sculptors. The sculpting technique left such a profound and compelling imprint that I embarked on a journey of artistic output, the first leg of which (1972 to 1982) was the direct cutting of materials, such as stone and wood. The form melded narrative figuration and a more organic world with pure abstraction. I abandoned sculpture in 1982.
